Check out this great video - a special production with add-on sound effects
I’ve been a fan of trains and steam engines for as long as I can remember. There are some shows that got me into them, mainly Thomas (series 1 to 5, nothing beats the first five series) and Ivor, thought not as good or as popular.
The locomotives we travelled with were Samson (who kinda resembles Gordon) and Winston Churchill. I’ve even given Samson Thomas’ infamous “O” face. (that face has me in stitches)
Started at one end in Hythe, stopped at New Romney to see the exhibition, (one of them even had two ERTL Thomas dioramas. The people there must love the old Thomas merch (who wouldn’t? I’m partial to Ertl, Take Along and Tomy, me), stopping at Dymchurch, and then at Dungeness.
During the time there, I visited the lighthouse – which was shut – and visited the beach. The wind was so strong that it blew me over. (yeah, ouch) and on the way back, the train ride was really bumpy. I even held on for dear life.
For those wondering what my favourite episodes from season, then here it is.
Series 1: The Sad Story of Henry (fight me), Edward, Gordon and Henry, Thomas’ Train (my first episode as it happens), Thomas and the Trucks, Thomas and Bertie, and Down the Mine
Series 2: The Runaway, Percy’s Predicament, Edward’s Exploit and Ghost Train
Series 3: Percy’s Promise, Time For Trouble, Gordon and the Famous Visitor, Thomas Gets Bumped (though Andrew Brenner went uncredited), Henry’s Forest (I don’t care about this Rule 55 nonsense), Mavis, Trust Thomas, All at Sea (the end’s a tearjerker), and Oliver Owns Up
Series 4: Steam Roller, Bowled Out, Thomas and the Special Letter (the 100th episode), and Special Attraction (for those wondering where Bulstrode came from)
Series 5: Cranky Bugs, A Better View for Gordon, Bye George, Put Upon Percy, Stepney Gets Lost (the darkest episode ever), and Rusty and the Boulder
